Q. I know how to do a decimal tab, but how do you do a tab with leader (those little dots in between the title and page number)?Kate Goldsberry
To add a leader to your tab you just go into the tab menu, which you can get to by double clicking the ruler. Once you're there you'll see a section that says leader and just chose whichever one you want to use.
Questions:
Q. What is Shareware?
"Shareware is a marketing method for computer software. Shareware software is typically obtained free of charge, often by downloading from the Internet or on magazine cover-disks. A user tries out the program, and thus shareware has also been known as "try before you buy". A shareware program is accompanied by a request for payment, and the software's distribution license often requires such a payment." from wikipedia.

Comment from Dr. Semmes: See the link from the first class to the Code of Ethics for Computing. You will see a definition of shareware. It is actually copright but you have permission to share it with others. Usually the author asks for a donation or the software only works for a certain number of days or uses, a trial period. This is different from public domain software. Public domain software is free and there are no restrictions.
Q. I am having difficulty with the decimal tab. I know how to turn it on, but it doesn't seem to work when I press the tab button. Does anyone know how to use it? Mary Camp
Go to a tiny box in the left corner of the screen, it has tiny black symbols in it. Keep clicking until you get the decimal tab, a perpendicular symbol with a dot. Then click the ruler where you wan the decimal margin to be. Left justify all of your data. Put your cursor in front of your data and press the tab key. Do this for each one of your data.
Dr. Semmes comment: Put your cursor at the beginning of the line that will have a decimal typed in. If you have previously set any tabs, clear them from the ruler. You can click and drag them off the ruler. Follow the directions in the paragraph above. . . When you press the tab key, it will move to the position of the decimal. Type in the number.
Q. Do we need to know the Glossary definitions in the newspaper (7 PRACTICES)? Belen Vinueza
Comment from Dr. Semmes: What is really important are the practices for safer computing. You should understand the terminology related to the practices and in Joe Hatch's lecture. I would not memorize the glossary.
